On Friday, SVT was able to reveal that Engelska skolan (IES) has sent half a billion kroner in grants to the ownership companies in the group - money that comes from school fees and government grants.

That the money, completely legally, can go to something other than to students and teachers is deeply regrettable, Åsa Westlund believes.

- It is also terrible that there are owners who also want to snatch money like this from money that should go to students and teachers, she says.

- Even the English school has many children who need more support and help, the need for smaller classes, and instead you let money disappear on its way to owners.

The contributions from the English school have gone out of the school business, but remain in the top owner company in the group.

Critical of the Tidö parties

Westlund also directs criticism at the Tidö parties, despite the fact that no changes to the law regarding the free schools' profit withdrawals have come into force during their term of office - the same laws also applied during the eight years that the Social Democrats were in government.

The bills that have been put forward by the party regarding the profits of the independent schools have been voted down by a majority in the Riksdag, Westlund points out.
