In DR Congo, Pope Francis denounces "economic colonialism"

Pope Francis took the opportunity of his trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday to denounce the "economic colonialism" of which Kinshasa is a victim, according to him.

A way of remembering that the country has immense mineral reserves but continues to be one of the poorest in the world.

The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso proposes the creation of a "federation" with Mali

The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso has proposed the creation of a "federation" between his country and Mali, both facing jihadist violence and led by putschist soldiers who have demanded the departure of French soldiers from their territories.

Choguel Kokalla Maïga encouraged his Burkinabè counterpart to follow the Malian example and repeated the principles which Bamako has made its mantra: defense of sovereignty and freedom to choose its foreign partners.

After a century of exile in France, a "talking drum" soon returned to Côte d'Ivoire

It had not resounded in its country of origin for nearly a century: an Ivorian drum seized by France during colonization is about to be returned to Côte d'Ivoire, a new stage in a policy restitution of works initiated in 2017 by President Macron.

Confiscated in 1916 by the French army from the Ébrié community and kept in recent years at the Quai Branly museum in Paris, the Ivorian drum Djidji Ayokwe must be returned to the Museum of Civilizations of Côte d'Ivoire in 2023.

Supporting video, publications claim that members of the Congolese diaspora marched through the streets of Moscow to call on Vladimir Putin for help in the face of violence in the DR Congo.

The scene was actually shot in Paris.

The demonstrators called on the international community to do more for the peace process.

And calls for help from Russia, if they are in the minority for the time being within the Congolese community, are very real.

But that was without counting on a spectacular rebound in recent times.

Senegalese productions are multiplying and are propelled by international distributors.

A film school has even appeared in Dakar.
