It was the week before Christmas that the police attacked the network after a long period of reconnaissance work.
A 25-year-old man was arrested when he was going to pick up a large amount of drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, at Ersboda in Umeå.
He was arrested a few days later for drug offences.
Two more people believed to be part of the network are also in custody.
- Up to 20 people can be involved in various ways, through transport and warehousing, among other things.
We will hold the final interrogations this week, then we will see how many will be prosecuted, says Thomas Palmgren, detective manager at the police in Västerbotten.
Priority matter
Several police officers from Västerbotten's intelligence department have recently been sent to Stockholm to help in the work with the large wave of violence.
However, this has not taken resources away from the work on the major drug case in Umeå, according to Thomas Palmgren.
- It has been prioritized because people are deprived of their liberty, he says.
