In 2022, nearly 1,700 wildlife accidents occurred in Blekinge.

The increase of over 13 percent is the largest increase in all of Sweden.

Comparatively, the second on the list, Gävleborg county, increased by 6.5 percent.

According to Mats Dahlén, who is the county search hunter in Blekinge, there is only one thing that can prevent wildlife accidents.

- Reduce speed when it gets dark.

SVT meets him at the Hasslör roundabout on the E22.

The reason is that many of the accidents occur in the area along the road to Hasslö and on the E22 near Förkärla.

- There is no game fence and that is where the accidents happen, says Mats Dahlén.
