- As we see it, we can't just decide on the basis of place of residence whether someone should be hired or not, but there are a variety of factors that determine it, says Johan Rosenqvist, director of health and medical care in Region Kalmar County, to SVT Småland.

As SVT Småland has previously told, Region Kronoberg has sent out a document where the managers are asked to avoid employing rental staff who live in Kronoberg.

The idea is that healthcare workers who live in Kronoberg should choose to take up employment directly with Region Kronoberg.

- Our ambition is that if you live in Kronoberg, you work for us and are involved in driving our development.

Instead of us putting money into the rental companies, says Roger O Nilsson, the director of health and medical care in Region Kronoberg.

Refers to Kalmar and Blekinge for "the same reasoning"

In the document with the call to the managers to opt out of rental personnel residing in the county, it is also stated that: "

We have started a collaboration in the phasing out of rental personnel with Region Blekinge and Region Kalmar, which are currently using the same reasoning.

Within certain areas of operation, this has already been carried out."

But the director of health and medical care in Region Kalmar County says that they did not use similar reasoning.

At least not on an overall level.

No general call

- I am sure that there is always a discussion about whether to do it or not out in the business.

But going out with a general call is an issue that we have not actively discussed, he tells SVT Småland.

According to Roger O Nilsson, it has long been ingrained in certain operations within the Kalmar County Region to remove personnel from the county.

- They are so grounded in it, that no message platform is needed, he tells SVT Småland.

Rosenqvist: Competence is decisive

But according to Johan Rosenqvist, it is competence that determines which people they hire.

- The decisive issue when we bring in company personnel is that we get people who have the best conditions to do the job, he says.

SVT Småland has also been in contact with Region Blekinge, which has also not issued any request to its managers to opt out of renting in those who live in Blekinge.
