• Former 'president' Puigdemont reinterprets the CJEU ruling: "Makes new Euro-orders unfeasible"

  • Justice The CJEU agrees with Llarena about the fugitives of 1-O and brings Puigdemont closer to Spain

The former president of the Generalitat

Carles Puigdemont

has warned this Friday that his extradition to Spain "will not arrive" and has accused those who see him nearby of deceiving the citizens.

"The years go by and the extradition that everyone announces and everyone promises never comes. They know it won't come, so out of respect for their citizens they should stop cheating," he said in a Twitter thread as a result of the judgment of the

Court of Justice of the European Union

(CJEU).

According to Puigdemont, his battle "is not for extradition" but for political rights, and he believes that avoiding extradition is a necessary step to complete it.

"Ignoring this approach has made many people fall into error. They have never understood it," said the former Catalan president, after opining that everything possible has been done to accuse them of seeking personal benefits, reports Europa Press.

However, he believes that now "not only do they have difficulties maintaining the persecution in Europe, but from Europe they are being told, for the first time, about an 'objectively identifiable group', and they are told, quite clearly, that the

Supreme Court

had no competence to judge political prisoners".
