We are here to show that the EU supports Ukraine more firmly than ever," von der Leyen wrote.

According to her, the European Commission will further "deepen support and cooperation."

Earlier, the head of the EC announced a visit to discuss Ukraine's preparations for joining the EU.

It was assumed that von der Leyen could be accompanied by 10-15 commissioners, including EC Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commissioner for Economics Paolo Gentiloni and EU diplomat Josep Borrell.
