The results show that the ecological status of internationally important wetlands remains generally stable, the total area of ​​wetlands has increased compared with the previous year, the water quality has shown a positive trend, and the water supply status has remained stable.

The richness of biodiversity has increased, and there are 2,391 species of wetland plants.

Wetland protection and restoration have achieved remarkable results, and degraded wetlands in Heilongjiang, Hubei, Shandong, and Hainan have been effectively restored.

  Musonda Mumba, Secretary-General of the Ramsar Convention, said in a video speech at the event that China has continuously improved its legal and policy framework, implemented the Wetland Protection Law and the National Wetland Conservation Plan (2022-2030), and strengthened domestic wetland protection management , looking forward to China, as the presidency of the Ramsar Convention, leading the development of global wetland protection in the next three years.

  According to reports, since joining the Ramsar Convention in 1992, China has actively responded to global challenges such as the reduction of wetland area and the degradation of ecological functions. There are 53 protection and restoration projects, more than 2,000 subsidy projects for wetland ecological benefit compensation, conversion of farmland to wetlands, and wetland protection and restoration, 467,400 hectares of degraded wetlands have been restored, and 202,600 hectares of wetlands have been newly added.

In conjunction with relevant departments, carry out special actions for the protection and restoration of mangroves and the prevention and control of Spartina alterniflora.

Last year, the Wetland Protection Law was implemented, and China's wetland protection has entered a new stage of legalization.

Promote the implementation of the results of the 14th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Wetlands, and prepare for the establishment of the "International Mangrove Center" in Shenzhen.
