Regarding the expansion of child allowances, which is one of the points of contention for measures against the declining birthrate, the Constitutional Democratic Party says that the total amount of allowances that would have been paid without income restrictions since 2012 would be about 1.1 trillion yen. I have summarized the calculations.

On the 2nd, the Constitutional Democratic Party held the first meeting of a team to verify the policy for 10 years after the former Democratic Party lost power, and discussed income restrictions on child allowances.

In this report, a trial calculation prepared by the party was shown, and if there were no income restrictions after June 2012, the total amount of allowances that would have been paid would have been approximately 1.1 trillion yen, and the number of children whose benefits were reduced was an average of 1.65 million annually. I think it was about the size of a person.

Specifically, households with one child born in June 2012 will receive a reduction of more than 800,000 yen.

Many of the lawmakers who attended pointed out that the government should also make a trial calculation, and that the income limit should be removed as soon as possible and the eligibility for payment should be expanded to the age of 18.

The verification team will also hold a meeting on the 3rd to discuss child allowances and support measures for farmers.
