An Israeli delegation in Sudan to discuss a peace agreement between the two countries

Two Sudanese government sources said today, Thursday, that an Israeli delegation arrived in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to discuss a peace agreement to normalize relations between the two countries.

The two sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, added that the visit is part of an exchange of visits between Sudan and Israel, and includes discussing and signing an agreement for normalization.

Sudan agreed to take steps to normalize relations with Israel in a 2020 deal brokered by the government of former US President Donald Trump.

Israeli officials did not comment, but the office of Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said that he would hold a press conference in the evening "upon his return from a historic official visit."

He did not disclose more.

Cohen visited Sudan, when he was Minister of Intelligence in 2021, in an unprecedented visit.
