The investigation into the disappearance of Sihem seems to have taken a new turn on Tuesday.

On Wednesday January 25, shortly before midnight, this young 18-year-old high school student left her grandmother's home in Salles-du-Gourdon, a town in Gard located about ten kilometers north of Alès.

She has since given no sign of news.

On Tuesday, a vast gendarmerie operation took place in Cendras, a village of 1,800 inhabitants, located halfway between Alès and the place of his disappearance.

Two people were arrested, several houses and a vehicle searched.

The disturbing profile of one of the suspects

The two suspects are a 40-year-old man with a heavy criminal record and his ex-girlfriend.

The daughter of this one would have a family link with the disappeared.

The man has already been convicted 13 times.

In 2015, he received a 12-year prison sentence for theft and robbery, a sentence he served after receiving a reduced sentence.

He was to appear free this Wednesday before the Assize Court of Gard.

He is accused of tying up and stripping a business couple at his home in 2011.

First described as a worrying disappearance, the investigation has since been reclassified as kidnapping and forcible confinement.

The court of Alès relinquished it on Tuesday, in favor of the criminal pole of that of Nîmes, the facts now being of a criminal nature: the kidnapping exceeds seven days without release.

Sihem has, to this day, still not been found.
