Patel also said that Russia is allegedly not fulfilling its obligations under the treaty and should allow inspection activities on its territory.

“This suggests the need for a session of a bilateral consultative commission... Nothing prevents Russian inspectors from going to the United States and conducting an inspection,” he said.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that in order to move forward with the New START, the United States must abandon its anti-Russian policy.

It was also reported that the State Department announced Russia's violation of START due to "blocking" of inspections.
