Israel announces the interception of a missile fired from the Gaza Strip

The Israeli army announced that the Iron Dome air defense system intercepted, today, Wednesday, a missile launched from the Gaza Strip.

The announcement came the day after the end of a tour by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to the region, which included Egypt, Israel and the occupied West Bank. During his tour, Blinken urged the Israeli and Palestinian sides to reduce escalation.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Israeli army reported that sirens sounded in the city of Sderot, in southern Israel, and in the area adjacent to the Palestinian Strip.
