The Ukrainian Olympic Committee will begin serious talks with the international federations about a possible boycott of next year's Paris Olympics if Russian and Belarusian athletes are allowed to return to international competition. I understand.

This was made clear in a letter sent by the Ukrainian Olympic Committee to the international federations of each sport dated 26th of this month.

Among them, the Ukrainian Olympic Committee announced that the IOC = International Olympic Committee will consider the conditional return of Russian and Belarusian athletes who have been excluded from international competitions due to the military invasion of Ukraine. The Russian and Belarusian Olympic Committees are completely under the control of their respective governments, and many Russian Olympians openly support the government's actions to invade Ukraine, which is the principle of unity in the Olympic Charter. Contrary to the rules, participation in any tournament should be banned."

"The Ukrainian Olympic Committee has decided to begin discussions with the international federations on the possibility of boycotting the Paris Olympics," it said.

As a reason for considering the return of athletes from Russia and Belarus, the IOC states that "no athlete should be prevented from participating on the grounds of a passport", and as a condition of return, it is necessary to take a neutral position that does not represent the country, or to actively participate. In particular, they have not taken any actions contrary to peace, such as supporting military aggression.
