The county administration receives many calls about turtles that have been seen in various Scanian waterways - this after the long-lived animals are abandoned in the wild by their owners, according to Nils Carlsson.

The turtles thrive in the Scanian nature - and all the better as the climate gets warmer.
But they are invasive and can outcompete other species.
- It is worrying because they eat the frog's room.
