Turkey's revenues from the tourism sector during the past year amounted to about 46.28 billion dollars, according to the latest data published by the Turkish Statistical Authority today, Tuesday.

Official data indicated that tourism sector revenues rose during the past year by 53.4% ​​compared to 2021 revenues, with the decline in the effects of the Corona epidemic and with the repercussions of the war that led to an increase in the number of Russian arrivals.

Statistics Authority data showed that in the last quarter of last year, tourism revenues jumped 22.2% to reach $11.37 billion, and the data showed that the average daily expenditure per tourist amounted to $89.

It is noteworthy that the tourism sector in Turkey recorded a previous record high in revenues, amounting to $ 34.5 billion in 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to experts, Turkey aims to attract 53 million tourists this year, compared to expectations of 47 million tourists in 2022.
