During the season, HV71 has made several attempts to climb up from the bottom.

Among other things, several heavy names have been brought in, but nothing has helped.

The team is currently second last in the table with 14 games left to play.

In a last desperate attempt to climb up from the bottom, the club fired head coach Tommy Samuelsson and assistant coach Fredrik Stillman yesterday.

- It is clear that it is sad that we are losing Tommy and "Stille", but as things stand, it was probably time, says Emil Andrae.

New experienced trainers

The new head coach will instead be Johan Lindbom, who was fired by HV71 in 2018 because the team was at the bottom.

They have also brought in Pelle Gustafsson as assistant coach from HC Dalen.

- They are experienced both as players and coaches.

Above all, they must bring new energy into the squad, says Fredrik Forsberg.

What is it that causes you to be at the bottom of the table with such a good team as you have on paper?

- We simply haven't got it together.

Game-wise, we have shown in some matches that we should be right up.

But far too often we have fallen too far in performance and that has punished us.

- We are right where we deserve to be, but we have about a month and a half to sort this out, so that is the goal right now, says Fredrik Forsberg.

In the clip you will hear more about how the players reason about the crisis in the team.
