Peskov did not confirm the information about the possibility of renaming Volgograd to Stalingrad

“I can’t confirm this,” Peskov said in response to a question about whether the Kremlin is discussing the renaming of Volgograd to Stalingrad.

Earlier it became known that road signs in Volgograd were replaced with "Stalingrad" at the main entrances to the city for the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.

Prior to this, the former chairman of the Russian government, Sergei Stepashin, announced the need to rename Volgograd to Stalingrad.
