This was stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“We know that both Poroshenko and Merkel and Hollande confirmed that for them – and this means for Ukraine, and for France, and for Germany – the Minsk agreements were nothing more than a screen with which they camouflaged their intentions and prepared Ukraine in order to solve the problem of Donbass by force,” he said.

According to him, this once again emphasizes that Putin "did everything right by deciding to launch a special military operation."

Poroshenko, in the BBC documentary “Putin Against the West,” said that the Minsk agreements made it possible to strengthen the Ukrainian army and turn the West against Russia.

Earlier, Merkel called the Minsk agreements an attempt to give Ukraine time to "become stronger."

She noted that today's Ukraine militarily is "not what it was in 2014-2015."
