As RIA Novosti reported, simplified requirements for cars produced in Russia have been in effect since the spring of 2022.

Automakers are allowed not to install a number of systems on new cars, including ABS and ESP.

They are also allowed to produce cars with engines of different environmental classes.

In December, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that strategies for the development of the automotive and metallurgical industries in the country would be adopted before the end of this year.
