Biden rules out giving Ukraine F-16 fighter jets

US President Joe Biden has ruled out the possibility of sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine to support it in its war against Russia, while other Western allies seem more open to the idea.

When a reporter in Washington asked him if the United States would provide the F-16s to Ukraine, Biden replied, "No."

Biden's comment came after it was expected that the US government would not rule out any particular weapons system and was weighing its support for Kiev according to Ukraine's needs.

On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron did not rule out sending fighter jets to Ukraine, and Macron said in response to a question whether France might provide Ukraine with combat aircraft during a visit to The Hague: "In principle, nothing is prohibited."
