A new history textbook with a section on a special military operation is needed so that schoolchildren receive verified, not distorted information.

This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Education of Russia.

“Schoolchildren always have questions about what is happening around.

They are looking for answers, and the school, teachers should help in finding undistorted information.

If this is not done, children will find answers in those places where the information war is in full swing, an endless stream of fakes.

The school cannot but respond, and that is why the regular classes “Conversations about the Important” have become so in demand,” the message says, the text of which is given by TASS.

As noted in the press service of the ministry, a team of historians, sociologists and psychologists is working on the publication.

“Our schools will always have textbooks with the most up-to-date data, and there is no prematureness in the process of updating school literature.

Another issue is that a textbook is always verified material, so the widest range of experts is involved in its creation.

And we hear and are grateful to the professional community for the reaction,” the Ministry of Education stressed.

The department also announced the timing of the launch of a new textbook with a section on SVO for mass use.

“Such a textbook will undergo mandatory testing this academic year, we will look at the results, and if necessary, we will refine it.

We have been talking about mass use since the 2024/25 academic year, ”the press service explained.

“The time has come when we must be very attentive to history”

In December, Vladimir Putin called the emergence of new school textbooks on history and social science a matter of national importance.

“History is generally important for any nation, especially at some difficult turns in the life of the state.

For us, just such a moment has come when we must be very attentive to history and to the formation of public consciousness on the basis of reliable historical data, and everything is formed, of course, from school, ”said the President of Russia at a meeting of the HRC.

He also instructed to study the issue of combining the courses "History of Russia" and "General History" for schoolchildren, develop mechanisms for the transmission of modern scientific knowledge to the youth environment, primarily related to the history of Russia, and also engage in the popularization of the heroes of Russian history and folklore, who meet traditional values.

As the Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov later said, the educational module “Introduction to the Modern History of Russia” prepared for the ninth grades will include important milestones in the history of the country, including information about the NWO and about the admission of new regions to the Russian Federation.

According to him, the textbook will be written taking into account the latest historical events that took place in 2022, such as the beginning of the NMD, the entry into the Russian Federation of the Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, and sanctions pressure from the West.

At the same time, the working group on its creation was headed by the assistant to the President of Russia Vladimir Medinsky.

The Ministry of Education also wants to involve members of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the work.

“The textbook will be ready for senior classes in March.

I hope that from the next academic year it will be possible to use it in schools,” Kravtsov said, answering the question of Dmitry Lutovinov, winner of the Russian Teacher of the Year 2022 contest, after the lecture “On the Development of a Sovereign National Education System.”
