The death toll from a bombing that targeted a mosque inside a police headquarters in northwest Pakistan has risen to 47, according to a medical source.

A spokesman for the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, Muhammad Asim Khan, said that the explosion resulted in 47 dead and more than 150 wounded, while a prominent government official, Shafiullah Khan, told AFP that the death toll is likely to rise further as bodies continue to be recovered from under the rubble.
