“Approve the draft agreement submitted by the Russian Ministry of Energy ... on cooperation in the field of natural gas supplies from the Russian Federation to the People's Republic of China via the Far Eastern route,” the document says.

It is specified that the document was previously worked out with the Chinese side.

Earlier, Gazprom and China's CNPC discussed key areas of cooperation for 2023, including the design of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline through Mongolia.

On January 16, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that the volume of gas supplies through the Power of Siberia pipeline reached record levels in 2022.
