President Yoon Seok-yeol immediately approved the 100 billion won reserve expenditure agenda, which was decided at the Cabinet meeting today (30th) to support heating costs for the vulnerable.

In addition to the existing budget of 80 billion won, a total of 180 billion won will be urgently invested in heating cost support.

Kim Eun-hye, chief of public relations, said in her briefing, "A decision was made quickly to alleviate even a little the burden of the vulnerable and the people suffering from the unprecedented cold wave."

Chief Kim said, "Today's cabinet meeting was originally scheduled for tomorrow, but it was held a day earlier." explained.

It is said that this preliminary review agenda was handled in the form of an emergency, omitting the procedure that usually goes through a vice-ministerial meeting a week before the cabinet meeting.

President Yoon's repatriation was also faster than the usual case of the evening of the day of the cabinet meeting or the morning of the next day.

As a result, the decision to double the amount of energy voucher support for about 1.18 million households of the vulnerable from 152,000 won to 304,000 won can be quickly implemented, Kim stressed.

On the other hand, President Yoon said at the senior secretary's meeting that he instructed "to actively consider ways to reduce the burden of heating costs for the middle class and common people."

President Yoon also said, "Relevant ministries should thoroughly guide people in need so that they do not receive gas support because they do not know."

Chief Kim added, "As the economic situation is still difficult and heating bills in February are expected to become a burden for the middle class and common people due to an unprecedented cold wave, President Yoon ordered the government to devise all possible measures today." .
