Labor market and integration minister Johan Pehrson (L) has been on a prao tour in Sweden for a couple of weeks now, where he is visiting different types of workplaces to learn about conditions and problems in the labor market.

Eskilstuna municipality recently announced that, in collaboration with Sisters in business and Nyföretagarcentrum, 9 million kroner has been granted from the EU to an ESF project that will help Ukrainian refugees into the labor market, a project the minister visited on Monday.

- There is a disgusting war in Ukraine and the people who are refugees should be able to get a job quickly, children should be allowed to go to school and then we try to ensure that they get various forms of support to learn Swedish, says Johan Pehrson (L).

Powerful measures for better integration

Eskilstuna has long had several vulnerable areas, such as Årby and Skiftinge, something that is not unique to Eskilstuna in particular.

Johan Pehrson (L) believes that powerful measures are required to solve the problems that exist in vulnerable areas in Eskilstuna and around the country.

- If you have come to Sweden and are not a Swedish citizen, you are welcome to contribute if you get a job and learn the language.

But if you don't behave, you must mark this and then you must be able to ensure that people are deported much more easily than today.

Then there are more police officers paired with strong social efforts, and that is being done, but it is tough in Eskilstuna, he says.
