Blinken stresses the two-state solution to the conflict settlement between Israel and the Palestinians

Anthony Blinken

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged Israel and the Palestinians to calm tensions during his visit to Israel on Monday, which comes amid the worst wave of violence in years.

He emphasized the view of the long-stalled peace process as the only way forward, emphasizing the two-state solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

Blinken told reporters after his plane landed in Tel Aviv: "Everyone's responsibility is to take steps to calm tensions instead of fueling them."

Blinken had said during his remarks in Cairo, today, Monday, that Washington has a firm belief in a two-state solution through negotiations, as the only way to a permanent solution to the conflict.
