• Casa Dani Gastronomy: the Spanish omelette that all of Madrid is talking about

The famous Casa Dani restaurant, located in the Mercado de la Paz in the Salamanca district, remains closed by the health authorities when

food poisoning

was discovered after consuming some product in poor condition from the place specializing in potato tortillas.

The first investigations suggest that there has been an outbreak of salmonellosis in the premises on Calle de Lagasca due to the consumption of some tortilla between Tuesday and Thursday of this week.

According to the first information,

there are about 40 people affected and several hospitalized,

including two children.

Many of those affected have reported on social networks that they have had to go to the emergency room with a picture of vomiting, dizziness and acute gastroenteritis.

Several of them are still hospitalized after entering the medical center last Friday.

Public health services

have taken samples from the premises and are awaiting analysis

to determine the origin of the poisoning and whether it is due to poor food handling or a product in poor condition.

The Madrid City Council has cautiously closed the restaurant, which

has been closed to the public since Friday.

Casa Dani has a store on Calle de Lagasca and also has a tortilla stand in the popular Mercado de la Paz.

The company has explained that it had never "faced a similar situation and that it is investigating what happened with the health authorities."
