Among the 85 recommendations of this financial jurisdiction, twelve concern the opening of judicial information against several officials of the Senegalese administration, including a minister.

In its report published at the end of 2022, the Court of Auditors noted overbilling as well as embezzlement of public funds in the management of nearly 1,000 billion CFA francs of a fund intended for a resilience plan to deal with the coronavirus. .

Joined by RFI, Birahim Seck, coordinator of the Civil Forum focuses on cases of impunity.

“

We have the impression that in Senegal, the culture of impunity is a public policy desired and maintained by the President of the Republic, Mr. Macky Sall.

We expected administrative sanctions against people indexed by the Court of Auditors but also legal proceedings.

It is not at all acceptable that Senegalese citizens but also of countries that are friends of Senegal, it must be remembered, put their money or else put fairly substantial amounts into the responses against Covid-19 and that this money could end up in the pockets of members of the government, members of the Senegalese administration or their accomplices.

The Senegalese people are fed up with recurring cases of impunity

 ,” he said.
