According to the website of China National Railway Group Co., Ltd., in 2022, the national railways will complete investment in fixed assets of 710.9 billion yuan and put into operation 4,100 kilometers of new lines, including 2,082 kilometers of high-speed railways. The annual railway construction task has been successfully completed.

By the end of 2022, the national railway operating mileage will reach 155,000 kilometers, including 42,000 kilometers of high-speed rail.

  In 2022, the Sichuan-Tibet Railway will further develop and consolidate, and the railway projects in the 102 major projects identified in the "Outline" of the National "14th Five-Year Plan" will be promoted smoothly; 26 projects including Heruo Railway, Xiangwan Section of Zhengyu High-speed Railway, Huhang Section of Hebei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, Zhonglan Section of Yinlan-Lanzhou High-speed Railway, Beijing Fengtai Station and other 29 railway projects were completed and put into operation; The 14th Five-Year Development Plan, and the revision and compilation of medium and long-term railway network planning are advancing in an orderly manner.

  In 2023, more than 3,000 kilometers of new lines are expected to be put into operation, including 2,500 kilometers of high-speed rail.
