The TASS news agency reported that just the day before the "International Holocaust Remembrance Day", on January 26, Putin had stated that Russia was firmly opposed to forgetting such a serious crime and would ensure that it would never happen again.
He also said that most of the Jews killed by the Nazis were citizens of the Soviet Union and "we feel the same pain".
