“We expect BiH, as a candidate country, to fully align its foreign policy ... with EU policy ... BiH must also fully comply with the EU visa policy, which does not provide for a visa-free regime with Russia,” Vijesti was quoted as saying by the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Russian Embassy in Sarajevo noted that the European Union puts forward too many requirements for the country, and the current agreement on a visa-free regime between BiH and Russia creates favorable conditions for the development of ties between the countries.

Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Yevgeny Ivanov said that the EU states have minimized the issuance of multiple-entry visas for Russian citizens, and some countries put forward obviously impossible conditions for obtaining entry permits for tourists.

On December 19, the press service of the German Foreign Ministry stated that Germany is guided by the unified EU rules when deciding on the issuance of visas to Russian citizens and the applications of Russians associated with organizations from the sanctions list will be rejected.

On January 11, it became known that Switzerland would stop issuing visas to holders of passports issued in the new territories of Russia.
