As the description suggests, the US Embassy in Ljubljana continues to offer small grants for "well thought out and organized projects" created by Slovenian civil society organizations.

“Possible project topics are broadly defined and include such areas as democracy and human rights, as well as problems in the environment and energy, defense and security issues, economic and business development,” the document says.

The embassy emphasizes that successful projects within the priority topics will "improve understanding of the United States" - Washington's public policy and the values of American society.

The organizers of the competition expect to see projects dedicated to regional and transatlantic cooperation, which will focus on the relationship between the United States and Slovenia.

Among the priority areas, the topic “Independent media and investigative journalism – including media literacy and the fight against disinformation” stands out.

The grant description specifies that the client is looking for “projects that support the activities of the US Embassy in the country and offer a plan to strengthen cooperation between Slovenia and the United States through traditional and digital media.”

The document states that all proposals must contain an "American component."

Preference will be given to projects involving an American speaker, expert or author.

Earlier, the US Embassy in Ljubljana planned to allocate up to $100,000 for the development of "cultural cooperation" between the two countries.
