January 28: Terrorist attack in the Old City of Jerusalem

At least two people are injured in a suspected terrorist attack in East Jerusalem.

The injured are said to be men, 23 and 47 years old.

The suspected perpetrator, a 13-year-old Palestinian, is shot by police and taken to hospital.

Israel states on Saturday that it is strengthening its presence in the West Bank after the recent attacks.

The attack is said to have taken place in the Old City in East Jerusalem, according to several news agencies.

January 27: Terror attack at synagogue

Seven people are killed and ten people are injured after a Palestinian man opened fire at a synagogue in Jerusalem.

The incident is described as the bloodiest terrorist attack in years.

January 27: Airstrikes and rocket attacks

Five rockets are fired from Gaza at Israel, which in turn responds with airstrikes against Gaza.

Three of Gaza's rockets are said to have been shot down by the Israeli military and no one is said to have been injured.

No one is reported to have been injured in the Israeli air attack on Gaza either.

January 26: Several dead in Palestinian refugee camp

Nine Palestinians are killed by Israeli military in the West Bank.

Most of the victims were shot to death in the refugee camp in Jenin in the northern West Bank.

Among the victims is a 60-year-old woman.

Israel's army claims that it was carrying out a military operation at the site and that the soldiers fired their weapons only when they came under attack.

January 25: Man shot dead in Jenin

A 20-year-old Palestinian from the refugee camp in Jenin is shot dead after, according to Israeli media, he stabbed an Israeli soldier.

In addition, a 17-year-old Palestinian is killed after pointing a pretend weapon at Israeli police officers, writes Haaretz newspaper.

January 14: Two Palestinians are killed in Jaba

Two Palestinians are shot dead by Israeli forces in the town of Jaba in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Israeli military, the soldiers opened fire after gunmen traveling in a car fired at them.

December 15: The UN condemns a record bloodiest year in the West Bank

UN experts condemn Israeli violence in the occupied West Bank after 150 Palestinians, including 33 children, were killed by Israeli forces in the area in 2022. It is the highest number since the UN began documenting the deaths in 2005, the UN writes in a press release.
