Sundsvall is in the news after this week's major police operation, where seven people were arrested.

The police seized narcotics, explosives and weapons.

The effort must have a connection to the recent wave of violence in Stockholm.

The police in the northern region have previously sent around 50 resources to Stockholm to help with the work there.

Now police have also been sent to Sundsvall.

- We have absolutely done that, both this week and earlier, says Micael Säll Lindhal, regional police chief in the North police region.

This means that police officers from Jämtland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten are now also being moved to Västernorrland.

He does not want to go into the exact number of police officers involved.

- It's a number anyway.

We go there for efforts there, we have to help.

Then we get to move people from the rest of the region.

Many criminal investigations in the north are put on hold until the situation calms down.
