There has been a serious shortage of doctors at the health centers in Karlshamn for some time now.

But the challenges of finding doctors can be seen in all the county's municipalities, according to Region Blekinge.

After all the doctors chose to leave the health center around 2013, Rödeby health center was only staffed by temporary doctors for about eight years.

- No one wanted to come in as the first doctor.

But in the end, one doctor started here and then more filled in, one by one, says Anna-Karin Larsson, head of department at Rödeby health centre.

Constant work

Today, the health center lacks only one permanent general specialist to be independent of temporary doctors.

- But of course it is a constant effort to keep the staff.

You are only one dismissal away from ending up in the negative spiral again, says Anna-Karin Larsson.
