The day the foal was discovered on Ryssbo farm outside Västerås, Karolina Rosqvist and her daughter were supposed to go to the pasture to feed the horses for lunch, but one of the horses did not show up, which made her start to think.

- I became curious, so I went down and checked what it was all about, says Karolina Rosqvist, who noticed the foal and went to the animal clinic in Strömsholm.

"Had to save him"

Once at the clinic, she understood that it would be expensive.

Since the pregnancy was not known, the horse was uninsured.

- I went with forty thousand without knowing how much I could spend because I didn't have the money myself.

But I had to save him.

The very next day, the cost was up to that sum.

Then she made a post on Facebook and the commitment turned out to be great, as people shared, commented and contributed financially with support to save the foal.

- It feels incredible to be able to do this.

According to Karolina, the foal is believed to have been created in connection with some of the horses being on the run, when one of the farm's stallions jumped over the box door and got out.

In the clip, Karolina Rosqvist talks about her reaction when the foal was discovered and the great engagement on social media that helped the foal survive.
