The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Danish ambassador to Ankara, Danny Annan, because of his country's permission to attack the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen.

A source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Ankara strongly condemned the "provocative act that constitutes a hate crime," which included an "attack" on the Holy Quran, and the sources said that the ministry had asked to withdraw the permission to demonstrate.

The Foreign Ministry informed the ambassador that this position of Denmark is unacceptable, and stressed that it expects not to allow the implementation of the act (assault on the Qur'an).

The Danish-Swedish extremist Rasmus Paludan, leader of the far-right "Hard Line" party, announced his intention to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque in Dorthewig today, Friday, in the capital, Copenhagen.

Danish racist politician Rasmus Paludan burned the Holy Quran under security measures in front of a mosque in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.

“I will burn the Qur'an in front of the Turkish embassy every Friday until Sweden becomes a NATO member,” he said.

In the same context, Ibrahim Kalin, a spokesman for the Turkish presidency, said that burning a copy of the Holy Qur'an is "a provocation and should not be exaggerated or promoted," and "Europe must take measures against attacks on Islam."

He added, through his Twitter account, "allowing this is a simplification of a bad act, a reduction in hate crimes, and a protection and reward for intolerance."

It is noteworthy that this week witnessed multiple attacks against the Holy Qur’an in both Sweden and the Netherlands, as the extremist Paludan burned a copy of the Holy Qur’an in front of the Turkish embassy building in Stockholm last Saturday after the Swedish authorities allowed it.

The Dutch extremist, Edwin Wagensfeld, leader of the extremist "Pegida" movement, tore up a copy of the Holy Qur'an and burned some of its pages in The Hague last Monday. He did this after the authorities granted him permission to do so and with the protection of security men.
