Regarding the position of the new corona under the Infectious Diseases Act, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's expert subcommittee has compiled an opinion that it should be classified as "5", the same as seasonal influenza. A subcommittee was held to discuss the government's policy of moving to May and future infection control measures.

The meeting on the 27th was held in the form of a joint subcommittee to discuss countermeasures against the new corona and a subcommittee on basic coping policies.



At the meeting, the Infectious Diseases Subcommittee of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare experts summarized the opinion that the position of the new corona should be shifted to "5 categories" under the Infectious Diseases Act. , economic experts, and representatives of local governments are discussing government policies on the transition and future infection control measures such as wearing masks.



The government has decided to move to "type 5" on May 8, after the long holidays. Regarding infection control, it is expected that there will be opinions that it is necessary to make preparations, such as showing each situation in an easy-to-understand manner so that individuals can make decisions.



The meeting will also discuss the government's policy to allow up to 100% of the capacity to enter events involving loud noises if infection control measures are taken.



Subcommittee Chairman Shigeru Omi is scheduled to hold a press conference on the evening of the 27th to explain the discussions at the meeting.
