More streaming services have opened up more and new jobs in the film industry, but it is still a tough industry, says Samuel Malm at HDK Valand in Gothenburg.

- Regardless of what the industry looks like and how big the demand is, you still have to pursue your projects, have a clear idea and above all have the contacts.

"The cinema always has a place"

More people may opt out of the movie theater for streaming instead – how will the industry deal with that?

- I know that streaming is taking over and that more people are choosing to watch it, but the cinema has always had a place, historically speaking.

And it continues to have a place because it constantly offers something new.

Wider screen, better sound and smell experiences, for example.

HDK Valand is one of several universities in Sweden that offers bachelor's and master's degrees in film.

The College of Design and Crafts is an institution within the Faculty of Arts at the University of Gothenburg.

The school was founded in 1848.
