When Karin Smirnoff was asked to write a Millennium book, she answered yes, but with the condition that she could write three paragraphs.

At the end of the process of the first book, she rewrote half the book in a month.

- There were too many intrigues in it so I had to clean it up a bit and despite some anxiety it was well received, she says.

Going on tour with the book

The sea eagle's cry is already sold in 30 countries.

Now Karin Smirnoff will go on tour and talk about her book.

- But I probably can't bear to go to all the places.

I have to get some peace and quiet and write the other two books in the series.

The main theme will be the clash between the use of our resources against the environment and minorities who have to sit in between when we cut down our forests and dig our mines, says Karin Smirnoff.

"An environment that sits deep" - hear about what the village of Hertsånger means to her in the video.
