An event to promote tourism to Japan was held in Thailand for the first time in three years, and many local governments from Japan are taking part in attracting tourists.

This event was held by the Japan National Tourism Organization in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, for the first time in three years, and 83 groups including local governments and travel agencies from Japan exhibited.

Japan has always been a popular travel destination in Thailand, but thanks to factors such as the yen's depreciation and baht appreciation, 83,000 Thais visited Japan last month, making Japan the most popular travel destination.

At the Yamagata booth, the person in charge was wearing a specialty cherry headgear while promoting the Zao ski resort, which is popular among Thai people.

Also, at the booth of Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture, there was a corner where visitors could experience making matcha, a specialty of the city, and visitors enjoyed making matcha.

One of the women who visited said, "I traveled to Japan every year before Corona, and I couldn't wait. I'm looking forward to going to see the cherry blossoms."

Keii Doi, Director of the Japan National Tourism Organization Bangkok Office, said, ``Since 70% of our visitors are repeaters from Thailand, we want to convey the diverse charms so that they can enjoy themselves no matter how many times they come.''
