During a press conference in Brussels, de Croo said that the supply of Russian diamonds to Belgium has decreased by 80% since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine.

“We state that the volume of deliveries to Antwerp has decreased, but Russian exports have not generally decreased,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

According to him, some of the Russian diamonds are in stores in Western markets, where they get "by other routes."

He also believes that efforts to ban the supply of diamonds should be made "at a broader level than at the EU level."

Earlier, Poland proposed new anti-Russian sanctions to the European Union, including restrictions in the field of nuclear energy.
