The streets of Jenin camp witnessed great celebrations immediately after the news of the shooting attack in occupied Jerusalem was announced, in which 7 Israelis were killed and about 10 others were wounded, according to the Israeli occupation police.

Young men from the camp took their cars and bicycles to the streets, chanting and sounding trumpets and slogans, at a time when dozens of sweets were distributed to passers-by.

Rings of cheers and applause spread across the rooftops.

Congratulations at the funeral home

In the mourning house of the nine martyrs who were killed at dawn on Thursday in the camp, the sadness turned into an atmosphere of joy and congratulations exchanged by the families of the martyrs and mourners, while fireworks were launched in the camp sky in the middle of the funeral square and in all the alleys of the camp.

Ahmed Al-Ghoul, brother of the martyr Abdullah Al-Ghoul, one of the martyrs of Thursday's massacre, said, "This is an official holiday."

Al-Ghoul was with dozens of young men in the camp square participating in the celebration that accompanied the announcement of the occupied Jerusalem operation.

In a clip widely circulated by the Palestinians on Thursday, a Palestinian paramedic appeared trying to pull the 17-year-old Abdullah Al-Ghoul away after an Israeli sniper shot him in the head, but he failed to treat him.

And "Until eight o'clock in the evening today, sadness prevailed in all the neighborhoods and streets of the camp, and the calm was heavy here," said his brother Ahmed.

Al-Ghoul added, "The streets are all lit up, the people exchange congratulations, the families of the martyrs have their lives restored, and the loudspeakers of the mosques resound the verses of the Qur'an and cheers that strengthen the determination, and we hear gunshots from time to time, rejoicing in this process."

Cheers to Jerusalem from the camp

The marches moved from the mourning house of the nine martyrs in the camp to the homes of the martyrs' families, then continued to the city center of Jenin, where the participants chanted, "From Jenin, salute to the proud Jerusalem," as well as chants in support of the resistance and the Jenin battalion.

Ahmed Al-Ghoul said, "My mother went out with the march, rejoicing at this achievement. Her heart has cooled now. We feel that my brother Abdullah is now joyful. Joy."

He added, "We cried a lot over our oppression, and now we have the right to rejoice."

He continued, "Consolation turned into joy. We are here in the camp, one hand and one soul. We all grieve for each other, and now everyone is happy."

Like the Jenin camp, celebrations and cheers prevailed in most cities in the West Bank, and hundreds of Palestinians took to the streets and city centers, while fireworks were launched in the sky of a number of Palestinian cities and towns to celebrate the Jerusalem operation.

A massacre and killing more than a year ago

And last Thursday, Israel killed 9 Palestinians inside the Jenin refugee camp after storming it, while the number of martyrs in Jenin governorate since the beginning of this year reached 19 martyrs, including children.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of martyrs in Jenin governorate last year reached 59, in addition to hundreds of injured and detainees in Israeli military campaigns that have not stopped for at least a year and a half.

On Friday evening, 7 Israelis were killed and others were injured in an operation carried out by a Palestinian youth in occupied Jerusalem, after he shot a number of settlers with a pistol he was carrying, before the Israeli occupation police shot him and killed him.
