At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces entrenched themselves on the eastern outskirts of Vugledar, and assault groups drove the Ukrainian military out of their positions at the intersection of 13 Parasantnikov and Magistralnaya streets.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost their positions in the area of ​​​​Nikolskie Dacha and in the cottage settlements of mines No. 1 and 3. At the same time, the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the pumping station, the Ugledar Lyceum No. 1 (in the north-eastern part of the city) and hospital buildings (in the southern part of the city) are under artillery fire.

In connection with the offensive of the Russian troops, officers and soldiers of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is known as the "Black Cossacks", fled from Vuhledar.

According to RT, in this unit of the Ukrainian troops there are no company and battalion commanders, and the personnel are demoralized.

According to captured Ukrainian fighters, shortly before Russian troops broke into the city, unidentified officers of the 72nd brigade stole MaxxPro and VAB armored vehicles that remained in the city, abandoned their subordinates and disappeared in an unknown direction.

At the same time, an attempt by the Ukrainian army to transfer reinforcements from units of the 68th Jaeger Infantry Brigade to Vuhledar was unsuccessful - the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the duty unit of Su-25 attack aircraft of the Russian Armed Forces.
