While checking a man who smoked cannabis, two police officers were savagely attacked on Monday afternoon in Saint-Martin-des-Champs near Morlaix (Finistère), we learned from the Brest prosecutor's office.

After copiously insulting the two officers, the 39-year-old man threw himself on them, hysterical.

He first punched one of the two officers in the face before pummeling him while he was on the ground and attempting to shove his shoots into his eyes.

The other officer who came to help his colleague also had the right to the same fate, the individual pushing him and pinning him to the ground before pushing his thumbs into his eyes.

Already sentenced for violence against police officers

He will finally be arrested by a patrol called in reinforcement before being placed in police custody.

Already convicted in 2020 for violence against police officers, the 30-year-old was brought before the Brest public prosecutor on Wednesday.

He will be tried on February 10 in a delayed appearance.

While awaiting trial, he was remanded in custody.

The two police officers attacked were each prescribed fifteen days of temporary interruption of work.
