The export of dual-use goods and technologies that can be used for military purposes will be banned.

Sanctions will also apply to the energy sector, coal, steel and gold products.

“The proposed sanctions against Minsk are similar to those previously imposed by the EU on Russia, including restrictions on key technologies and the country's energy sector,” the statement said.

It is noted that the approval of the proposed sanctions requires the support of all EU member states.

Earlier, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said that the new package of EU sanctions could include measures against Rosatom and Minsk.

Also, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the attempts of the West to strangle Minsk and Moscow failed.
