An analysis has emerged that North Korean hacker organizations are attempting new methods such as sending e-mails such as 'job offers' or 'salary adjustments' to steal virtual currency.

According to a report by Proofpoint, a US information technology security company, a hacker group called 'TA444', which is linked to the North Korean regime, is inducing users to click malicious links to obtain personal information.

A representative method is to send phishing emails containing contents such as salary adjustment, job opportunities at famous companies, and virtual currency analysis.

If the user clicks the 'open' button in the email, personal information can be passed over and financial damage can occur.

TA444 stole $400 million in 2021 and more than $1 billion in cryptocurrency assets last year in this way, the report estimated.

In particular, last month, it is said that a large-scale phishing attack targeting the financial, education, and medical sectors of the United States and Canada was carried out.

Netizens responded such as "The international community doesn't support it, so foreign currency earning is a cyber crime" and "It's best not to open and delete suspicious emails."
