A man, suspected of having threatened passers-by, in rue Saint-Guilhem, in Montpellier (Hérault), on Sunday evening, was arrested by municipal and national police.

The suspect was spotted using CCTV cameras from the Urban Supervision Center.

His agents were able to follow him, allowing the police to intervene.

At the sight of the police, the man is accused of having fled and thrown his weapon.

The municipal police and the soldiers of Operation Sentinel also set out to pursue him.

He was able to be arrested by the Anti-Crime Squad, not far from there.

The man was taken into custody.

The municipal police also found the knife he is accused of brandishing in front of passers-by in the middle of the street.
