The editor-in-chief: "It is very important that we are present"

- It feels great that we finally get to open up this newsroom for real, says Tobias Wallin, editor-in-chief of SVT Nyheter Öst.

SVT Nyheter is currently available in a total of 48 locations - from Kiruna in the north to Malmö in the south.

The goal is for SVT to be present in a total of 50 locations by 2023.

"Very important"

SVT Nyheter Öst is today in Norrköping, Linköping and on Gotland.

The new newsroom in Västervik will now also support the coverage in the East Goth municipalities of Valdemarsvik, Åtvidaberg and Kinda.

- I think it is extremely important that we as journalists are in the places we cover.

Not just that we fly in and fly out.

We will be there every single week of the year, says Tobias Wallin.
